Implementation, Development or Management

- what are these crazy terms? -

Unfortunately we weren’t feeling to creative at the office when we were naming the different sort of roles volunteers could have at Change&Switch. The way we see it, everyone can play an important role in the work we do, so just because you are in implementation one day doesn’t mean you can’t be doing management stuff some time in the future.

Below is a brief overview of what some the three categories entail:

Implementation

For the practical, hands on, action oriented types who can turn an idea into change in the real world.

- Creating content for web, print, radio and other mediums.

- Liaising with partner organisations, businesses, schools, and government.

- Promoting the organisation at festivals, in the media, etc.

- Organising and running camps, concerts, and other C&S events

- Recruiting short and long termvolunteers

Development

For the forward thinking, creative, idea factories willing to try something new.

- Campaign design and planning

- Brainstorming ideas for future projects

- Developing timelines and budgets

- Recruiting

Management

For those with leadership, great communication skills and a solutions driven approach.

- Managing resources, financial and otherwise

- Organising correspondence

- Facilitating inter organisational relationships

- Tracking and ensuring long term goals remain on track

- Reporting back to the executive team on a regular basis

These are by no means prohibitive though and should only be used as a guideline.
